Calgary River Wave Park

The Calgary River Wave Park is a project being put forth by the Alberta River Surfing Association that is expected to generate over $5 million a year in new economic activity. The Park would include a 30m wide adjustable wave, a river bank recreational area, improved river access, flood mitigation and supporting facility. Ryan Jorgensen, Director of The Rapid Eye Movement, is an avid river paddle boarder and a member of ARSA. After hearing about the plans for this project he offered their visualization services as a donation, in hopes that it might help towards this goal of a lasting legacy for river sports in Calgary.

Cochrane River Wave Park

The Wave Park is a project that has been identified as Cochrane Tourism's number one priority in making Cochrane a destination and is expected to generate millions in new economic activity annually. It would be a state-of-the-art park with a 20m wide adjustable wave that would be accessible by all river users, including surfers, casual floaters, kayakers, rafters, canoeists, and paddleboarders. It would also attract large numbers of spectators and call for the inclusion of a spectator stand to accommodate that audience. After the successful visualization of the Calgary River Wave Park for the Alberta RSA, Neil Egsgard, President of Surf Anywhere, approached us to visualize another one of his projects. It was another resounding “yes” to be able to work on a project that could leave a lasting legacy for river sports in Alberta.
