“Hand-crafted cannabis for a new era” is how Sugarbud, a retail cannabis startup, defines itself. 

Flipp Advertising, one of Calgary’s premiere advertising firms, was hired to develop the Sugarbud brand as the fledgling company raised capital, built their team and a cultivation facility. Part of that branding exercise was to develop the look for their retail locations, so Flipp asked us to bring this vision to life. For this set of renderings, we had dimensions for a typical retail location, mood boards and instructions that they wanted it to “look clean and modern, think the Apple Store of cannabis.” We started our process by researching design trends in cannabis retail, including right here in Calgary, and then aimed for something a little different.
